A little ashamed of how long it’s been since my last post, but I promise I have been a very busy bee this past week… I think you’ll forgive me when you see the treats below :P
1701 Amherst, Montreal.
And now for an equally amazing place, but this one has the added bonus of reminding me of the seven wonderful months I spent in Copenhagen – the Café Ellefsen, just off Saint-Denis, on Saint-Zotique Est. The decor in this place is absolutely authentic! While living in Denmark, I always thought it odd and slightly risky that cafés and restaurants would serve their piping-hot lattes in handle-less glass mugs. You needed to know how to grab them (with napkins wrapped around) or else you risked a nasty little burn when you ultimately dropped your coffee all over yourself because the glass was so hot (ahem… something I once did). So when I ordered a latte at Café Ellefsen, it warmed my heart to see that it was served in the exact same type of glass as it would have been in Copenhagen. Bref, this place is simply amazing and if you’ve never been to Scandinavia, come here to get a taste of what a Scandinavian Cafe would look and feel like! This place makes me want to cover my entire apartment in chalk paint… Jeg esker dig Café Ellefsen :) 414 rue Saint-Zotique Est, Montreal.
